Etymology
[edit]Agent noun of the verb ܡܲܫܠܸܡ (mašlim, “to surrender; betray; convert to Islam”) + -ܵܢܵܐ (-ānā, the occupational ending). The first definition is a Semantic loan from Arabic مُسْلِم (muslim, “surrenderer, Muslim”)
