Assyrian Neo-Aramaic

Etymology

Two etymologies: The name of an early Christian martyr, Latin Marīna. Also as a neologism, a name proposed by Jacqueline Gorgis Sewdin, a diminutive from ܡܵܪܵܐ (mārā, lord) + English -ina or French -ine, or perhaps a false etymology given to the pre-existing name.
