1. on, upon, on top of

   ܕܪܝܼ ܐܸܟ݂ܵܠܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܩܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܦܵܬ݂ܘܿܪܵܐ ― drī iḵālā ˁal qarˁā dpāṯōrā ― Put the food on top of the table.

2. in addition to, along with

   ܥܲܠ ܩܲܪܥܵܐ ܕܫܘܿܩ̈ܝܵܬ݂ܵܐ ܙܒ݂ܝܼܢ ܠܝܼ ܨܲܘ̈ܠܹܐ ― ˁal qarˁā dšōqyāṯā zḇīn lī ṣawlē ― In addition to clothes, I bought shoes.

Usage notes

• (on): This word is used when something is directly on top of another thing. When something is in general above it, the phrase ܠܥܸܠ ܡ̣ܢ (lˁil min) is used.
