Etymology

From Aramaic זוּזָא (zūzā, “coin, money; drachma”), from Akkadian 𒍪𒊻 (/⁠zūzu⁠/, “half, half measure; half shekel”); compare Hebrew זוּז (zuz, “one quarter of a shekel”).
