[edit]From Aramaic זָגָא (zāḡā, “chick”), from Middle Persian [script needed] (zʾtk' /zādag/) or [script needed] (zhk' /zahag/); compare also Old Armenian ձագ (jag).

- offspring, young of an animal, especially chick
- ܙܵܓ݂ܹ̈ܐ ܕܐܲܪܝܵܐ ܗܵܕܘܿܣܹ̈ܐ ܝܢܵܐ ܥܲܠ ܥܵܠܡܵܐ ܚܵܕ݂ܸܪ̈ܘܵܢܗܘܿܢ.
