[edit]Calque of English email, from ܒܝܼܠܕܵܪܘܼܬܵܐ (bīldārūtā, “mail”) + ܐܸܠܝܼܩܲܛܪܘܿܢܵܝܬܵܐ (ilīqaṭrōnāytā, “electronic”). Coined by Bailis Yamlikha Shamun and first published in a 2014 dictionary, as a substitute for the more common Anglicism ܐܝܼܡܲܝܠ (īmayl).
