Usage notes
[edit]As this word may refer to either a day in the past or the future, some dialects may distinguish between the two with the phrases ܠܵܐ ܬܸܡܵܠܝ ܐܘܿܡܵܚܪܹܢܵܐ ― lā timmāl ōmāḥrēnā ― Not yesterday, the day before yesterday and ܠܵܐ ܨܲܦܪܵܐ ܐܘܿܡܵܚܪܹܢܵܐ ― lā ṣaprā ōmāḥrēnā ― Not tomorrow, the day after tomorrow.
