Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀖𑀼𑀝𑁆𑀝𑁆- (ghuṭṭ-), from Ashokan Prakrit [Term?]. Cognate with Punjabi گُھٹّ (ghuṭṭ) / ਘੁੱਟ (ghuṭṭa).
