    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀧𑀝𑁆𑀝 (paṭṭa, strip of cloth, turban) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓𑁆𑀓- (-kka-) + -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit पट्ट (paṭṭa, strip of cloth, silk).
