[edit]Etymology
[edit]Uncertain. But possibly from Pashto پارسیوان (pârsiwân), especially as پارسی (pārsī) is generally less common than فارسی (fārsī) in Persian, so this term being predominantly spelt with a پ (p) would be unusual if not from Pashto.
Pronunciation

- (Iran, formal) IPA(key): [pʰɒːɹ.siː bɒːn]
