[edit]Etymology
[edit]Uncertain. Not found in Middle Persian. A link to Middle Persian 𐭯𐭠𐭫𐭮𐭩 (pʾlsy /Pārs/, “Persia”) is often suggested, with reference to the Zoroastrian notion that the Iranians were the chosen nation of God.[1]
