Inherited from Chagatai پادشاه (pādišāh), from Persian پادشاه (pâdišâh). Cognate with Kazakh патша (patşa), Turkmen patyşa, Kyrgyz падыша (padışa), Uzbek podishoh and Turkish padişah.
