Etymology

From Middle Persian hmʾk' (hamāg, all),[1] from Proto-Iranian *hama-ka-, from Proto-Iranian *ham- (together).[2] Akin to Old Armenian համակ (hamak), an Iranian borrowing. Compare Central Kurdish ھەموو (hemû) and Northern Kurdish hemû, hemî.
