[edit]From Middle Persian hmʾk' (hamāg, “all”),[1] from Proto-Iranian *hama-ka-, from Proto-Iranian *ham- (“together”).[2] Akin to Old Armenian համակ (hamak), an Iranian borrowing. Compare Central Kurdish ھەموو (hemû) and Northern Kurdish hemû, hemî.
