        جان پاكيزه را نیالودم

        ba hawā u ba šahwat-i nafsī
        jān-i pākīza rā nay-ālūdam
        Not a single person did I lampoon in anger,
        Not a single person did I praise out of greed.
        I did not sully my pristine soul
        With the lust and libido of the self.
