[edit]Possibly related to Northern Kurdish نهارتن (nihartin, “to look, watch, glance”) and Feyli Southern Kurdish نووڕین (nûrrîn), which are cognates to Persian نِگَر (negar) and نِگاه (negâh, “look, glance”); see there for further information.
