Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *köpük (“foam”), from *köp- (“to swell”); cognate with Azerbaijani köpük, Bashkir күбек (kübek), Kazakh көбік (köbık), Kyrgyz көбүк (köbük), Southern Altai кӧбӱк (köbük), Tuvan көвүк (kövük), Uyghur كۆپۈك (köpük) and Uzbek ko'pik.
