Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *köpür- (“to foam”), a development of *köp- (“to swell”), whence كوپوك (köpük, “foam, lather”). Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (köpür-), Southern Altai кӧбӱр- (köbür-, “to foam”), etc.
