[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kümüĺ; cognate to Old Turkic 𐰚𐰇𐰢𐱁 (kümüš, “silver”), Azerbaijani gümüş, Old Uyghur kwymwš (kümüš), Karakhanid كُمُشْ (kümüš), Chuvash кӗмӗл (kĕmĕl), Kazakh күміс (kümıs), Kyrgyz күмүш (kümüş), Turkmen kümüş and Uzbek kumush.
