[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kȫrük (“bellows”); cognate with Azerbaijani körük, Bashkir күрек (kürek), Kyrgyz көөрүк (köörük), Nogai коьрик (körik), Southern Altai кӧрӱк (körük) and Yakut күөрт (küört).
