[edit]Borrowed from Arabic كِنَايَة (kināya, “metaphor; allusion”).

- allusion, hint, an indirect reference to something which is not explicitly mentioned
- innuendo, insinuation, any derogatory hint or reference to a person or thing
- (rhetoric) figure of speech, a word or phrase that deviates from ordinary language
