[edit]Arabized pronunciation of Early Classical Persian پیروزه (pērōza), from Middle Persian *pērōzag, from 𐭯𐭩𐭫𐭥𐭰 (pērōz, “victorious”). Note the Middle Iranian borrowings: Aramaic פרוזג (pīrūzag), Classical Syriac ܦܝܪܘܙܓ (pīrūzag), Arabic فِيرُوزَج (fīrūzaj), فَيْرُوزَج (fayrūzaj).
