Inherited from Prakrit 𑀕𑁄𑀁𑀟 / गोंड / ಗೋಂಡ (goṃḍa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit गोण्ड (goṇḍa, Gond).
