[edit]Etymology
[edit]Literally: “age of despair”. Perhaps after Quran 65:4, where it says: وَاللّائِي يَئِسْنَ مِنَ الْمَحِيضِ مِن نِسَائِكُمْ (wa-llāʔī yaʔisna mina l-maḥīḍi min nisāʔikum, “those of your women who have despaired of menstruation”, i.e. “those who will certainly not menstruate again”).(Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
