[edit]سُبْحَانَ اللّٰه • (subḥāna llāh)
- glory to God; praise the Lord
- 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 27:8:
- fa-lammā jāʔahā nūdiya ʔan būrika man fī n-nāri wa-man ḥawlahā wa-subḥāna llāhi rabbi l-ʕālamīna
- But when he came to it, he was called, “Blessed is the one at the fire, and whoever is around it! Glory be to God, the Lord of all worlds.”
- an expression of surprise, wow!
