[edit]Vulgarization of Persian زبانه (zobâne, “object similar to a tongue”), from زبان (zobân, “tongue”).

- the paper tube inserted in cigarettes to serve as a mouthpiece
- heel, the lower end of a timber in a frame, as a post or rafter
