[edit]From رامپه (rampa, “grappling hook; boarding”) + ایتمك (etmek, “to do; to make”).
Verb
[edit]- (intransitive, nautical) to board, to attempt to capture an enemy ship by going alongside and grappling her, then invading her with a boarding party
