جانب (jâneb) (plural جوانب (javâneb))

  1. side, direction
    • c. 1260s, Jalāl ad-Dīn Mohammad Rūmī, translated by Reynold A. Nicholson, مثنوی معنوی, volume I, verse 3098:
علت تنگی است ترکیب و عدد / جانب ترکیب حسها می‌‌کشد
      'alât-i-tangi-st tarkîb u 'adad / jânib-i-tarkîb has-hâ me-kišad
The cause of narrowness is composition (compoundness) and number (plurality): the senses are moving towards composition.
