[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *tüpkürük (“saliva”), a development of *tüpkür- (“to spit”), whence توكورمك (tükürmek). Cognate with Bashkir төкөрөк (tökörök) and Kumyk тюкюрюк (tükürük).
