Etymology

    Inherited from Middle Hindi بھنور (bhnvr /⁠bhãvar⁠/) (c. 1658),[1] from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀪𑀫𑀭 (bhamara), from Sanskrit भ्रमर (bhramará, large black bee; spinning top).[2]
