Etymology
[edit]Cognate with Akkadian 𒁀𒆪𒌑𒌝 (bakûm), Hebrew בָּכָה (bakhá) and Ge'ez በከየ (bäkäyä). Possibly related to Oromo bokkaa (“rain”).
