Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *bagïrsuk (“intestines”), a development of *biagïr (“liver”), whence باغر (bağır, “epigastric region of the abdomen”). Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (bagırsak, bagırsuk), Azerbaijani bağırsaq, Karakhanid بَغِرْسُقْ (bağırsuk) and Salar bağzuq.
