Etymology

From Common Turkic *ugur (to meet; to intend; occasion, reason, time) + *-a (verb-forming suffix).

اوغرامق (oğramak or uğramak) (with dative)

  1. to stop by, swing by, encounter in passing
  2. to fall victim to, to suffer
    • 1927 October, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Nutuk[1], page 341:
      بو دشمن قارشیسنده بولنان ۲۳ نجی فرقه و ملی قوتلرمز ، چوق ضایعاته و ضعفه اوغرادی!
