[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *ańak (“vessel, cup”);[1] cognate with Old Turkic 𐰖𐰴 (ayaq), Karakhanid اَيَقْ (ayak), Kazakh аяқ (aäq), Kumyk аякъ (ayaq), Kyrgyz аяк (ayak), Southern Altai айак (ayak) and Tuvan аяк (ayak).
