Etymology

Inherited from Sanskrit अस्तमयन (astamáyana, “setting (of sun)”).[1] Cognate with Hindi अथमना (athamnā), Gujarati આથમણું (āthamṇũ, “western”), and Marwari आथण (āthaṇ, “evening”).
