From מיט־ (mit-, with) +‎ טיילונג (teylung, division; distribution). Possibly a calque of Russian сообще́ние (soobščénije), interpreted as со- (so-) + обще́ние (obščénije) rather than сообщи́ть (soobščítʹ) + -е́ние (-énije).
