ליבב / לִבֵּב (libév) (pi'el construction)

  1. (literary) To fry potato pancakes.
  2. (flowery) To hearten someone, to capture someone's heart.
    • Tanach, Song of Songs 4:9, with translation of the New International Version:
      לִבַּבְתִּנִי אֲחֹתִי כַלָּה, לִבַּבְתִּינִי; בְּאַחַת מֵעֵינַיִךְ.
      libbavtíni aẖotí challá, libbavtíni; bəaẖát me'enáich.
      You have heartened me, my sister, my bride; you have heartened me with one glance of your eyes.
