[edit]Borrowed from Demotic wꜣḥ-jb-rꜥ, composed of wꜣḥ (“to endure”) + jb (“heart”) + rꜥ (“Ra”), thus meaning ‘The heart of Ra endures’. Compare Ancient Greek Ἁπρίης (Hapríēs), Οὔαφρις (Oúaphris), Ουἀφρη (Ouaphrē), Imperial Aramaic 𐡅𐡇𐡐𐡓𐡏 (wḥprʿ), and Phoenician 𐤅𐤇𐤐𐤓𐤏 (wḥprʿ) from the same source.
