Etymology
[edit]An Iranian borrowing: compare Persian ناشتر (nâštar, “spruce that lives up to 500 years”), possibly related to نوش (nuš) and literally meaning "immortal tree".[1][2][3][4] Formed with the botanical suffix + -ի (-i).
