Inherited from Bulgar جيرم (ciyermi),[1] itself inherited from Proto-Turkic *yẹgirmi (twenty).[2][3]

Cognate with Khalaj yigirmi, Turkish yirmi, Uzbek yigirma, Bashkir егерме (yegerme) and Yakut сүүрбэ (süürbe).
