[edit]From Proto-Mordvinic *urəźəj~*urəźəŋ, which originally meant “boar” and cognate with Finnish oras. Compare also Erzya рузей (ruźej, “boar, barrow”) and Erzya уропей (uropej, “fang, tusk”).
