Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *taĺïk- (to leave) via crasis from *tulh-,[1][2] equivalent to тул (tul, outside) +‎ -ӑк (-ăk).[3]

Cognate with 𐱃𐱁𐰶 (tašïq-, to leave) and possibly Turkish çıkmak (to leave), see Proto-Turkic *čïk- (to leave) for more.
