Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Mordvinic *tundə, inherited from Proto-Finno-Ugric *towke (“spring”). Cognate with Estonian tõug, Finnish touko (“sowing, planting”), Northern Mansi тӯя (tūâ, “spring”), Hungarian tavasz (“spring”).
