Inherited from Old Ruthenian сердитый (serdityj), from Old East Slavic сьрдитъ (sĭrditŭ), from Proto-Slavic *sьrditъ. Cognate with Russian серди́тый (serdítyj) and Ukrainian серди́тий (serdýtyj).
