Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from a Finnic language (compare Karelian ruočči). Doublet of рӯһц (rūhc).
Related to Finnish ruotsi and Russian Русь (Rusʹ). Cognates also include Northern Sami ruošša, ruoŧŧa and Skolt Sami ruõšš, ruõcc.
