Inherited from Old East Slavic подъѣздъ (podŭjězdŭ). By surface analysis, deverbal from під'їзди́ти (pidʺjizdýty). Compare Russian подъе́зд (podʺjézd), Belarusian пад'е́зд (padʺjézd), Polish podjazd.
