Possibly a univerbation of по (po) +‎ близу (blyzu), inflected form of obsolete близ m (blyz, vicinity, noun).[1][2] Compare Belarusian паблі́зу (pablízu), Russian вблизи́ (vblizí), Polish w pobliżu.
