Russian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Eye dialect spelling of подо́нки (podónki). A deliberate misspelling of Russian по- ("a bit") + дно ("bottom") + the diminutive suffix -ок, plural -ки. Various unregulated spellings exist.
Pronunciation
[edit]Noun
[edit]падо́нки • (padónki) m anim pl or m inan pl (genitive падо́нкаф, plural only)
- (nonstandard) padonki (Internet riff-raff, a Russian-speaking Internet subculture that employs alternative spellings for comic effect, and which delights in the use of profanity and obscene subjects.)
- Example:
- Standard: "Я отпра́вился в магази́н за хле́бом, где встре́тил краси́вую де́вушку, поговори́л с ней о любви́ и пригласи́л в го́сти."
- Padonki: "Йа атправился в могозин за хлебам, где фстретил песдатуйу пелотку, розкрыл с ней тему йэбли и преглосил на пару палак чаю."
- Translation (of the standard wording): "I went to the store for a loaf of bread where I met a beautiful girl, talked to her about love and invited her over."
- Translation (of Padonki): "I made my way to the store for a loaf of bread where I met a fucking hot chick, broached the subject of fucking and invited her for one or two fucks (i.e. cups) of tea." (untranslatable, puns on words are used and words are deliberately misspelled and distorted)
- Standard Russian spelling of padonki vulgar sentence: "Я отпра́вился в магази́н за хле́бом, где встре́тил пизда́тую пило́тку, раскры́л с ней те́му е́бли и пригласи́л на па́ру па́лок ча́ю."
