[edit]From нос (nos, “nose”) + -а- (-a-) + рог (roh, “horn”), a calque of Ancient Greek ῥινόκερως (rhinókerōs). Cognates include Russian носоро́г (nosoróg), Ukrainian носорі́г (nosoríh).
