[edit]From Proto-Permic *mu̇š, from Proto-Uralic *muška. Cognates include Ingrian muhku (“bump, swelling”).
Permic cognates include Komi-Zyrian мыш (myš), Komi-Permyak мышк (myšk) and Udmurt мыш (myš).
