[edit]From *kürt (“snow drift”), related to Yakut күрт- (kürt-, “to shovel”), Karakhanid [script needed] (küri-), Karakhanid [script needed] (kürä-, “to scoop, shovel”). See also көрәк (körək, “shovel”).
